Five out: the top, two wings and two corners. Ball at the top.
How to run it
Five out with the basic rules of motion offence: pass and cut, fill the empty spot, reverse the ball, screen away and drive and kick. First without defence to learn the movements, then with it.
Set-up
One basket. Five players: the top, both wings and both corners. One ball at the top. Add defenders once the movements are in place.

Coaching points
- Pass and move – standing still after a pass makes life easy for the defence.
- Cut hard and straight and show a hand to the passer. If you don't get it, clear out to an open spot.
- Keep 4–5 m between players; that makes helping hard.
- The screener waits until the team-mate has used the screen and then opens up the other way.
- Read the defence: overplayed – go backdoor. Defender sags – come up and catch.
Variations
Easier
Just three rules to start with: pass and cut, fill the spot, reverse the ball. No defence.
Harder
5v5 where the offence may only score after at least four passes, or a shot is allowed only after a cut or a screen.
