Blue attacks the goal on the right, red the goal on the left. Blue has the ball at the back.
How to run it
Small-sided 3v3 without goalies to two real goals. Lots of touches, finishes and quick transitions between attack and defence.
Set-up
An area of about 18 × 14 m marked with discs. A floorball goal at each end with the mouth facing the area. Two teams of three. Spare balls at the side.
Instructions
- 1Blue attacks the goal on the right, red the goal on the left. Blue has the ball at the back.
- 2A pass to the middle where a blue player comes towards the ball. Red presses.
- 3The middle player plays it out wide where the team-mate is free.
- 4Red shifts over to the ball side – blue switches the play to the free player on the other wing.
- 5The player drives forward past their opponent.
- 6A finish into the goal – goal!
- 7Red restarts at once with a new ball beside the goal. Blue switches to defending.
- 8Red passes to the middle.
- 9The middle player drives forward. Blue tries to close the spaces.
- 10A pass to the free player on the wing.
- 11A finish in the other goal. The next ball comes in straight away.
Coaching points
- Be wide in attack: one player on each wing and one in the middle.
- Defend as a team – shift towards the ball side but don't forget the free player.
- Switch straight away when the ball changes team. No break after a goal.
- With no goalie nobody may stand in the goal – defend in front of it instead.
- Play short games of 2–3 minutes with rest in between.
Variations
Easier
A joker who always plays with the attacking team, or 3v2.
Harder
